Domicilio's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 21st match minute, Valente FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by César Paraibano to maneuver through the defense. 29 minutes into the game, Cristóvão Arruda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Domicilio's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Valente FC the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luizinho Matos in the 30th minute of play forced Domicilio's goalkeeper Carlos Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute, João Carlos de Amaral ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. João Adolfo de Toledo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After a rather tough play, Domicilio's Marcos Quirino got a free kick in the 35th minute. With a little luck, Valente FC's João Adolfo de Toledo got control of the ball when João Carlos de Amaral tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 41 played minutes Valente FC got a freekick which was hit by Maurício Marquez. 45 minutes into the match, Luizinho Matos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carlos Souza. Domicilio's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luizinho Matos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when João Carlos de Amaral made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Domicilio's João Carlos de Amaral nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. João Adolfo de Toledo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Claudinei de Andrade could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Carlos Souza made a huge save. Carlos Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from César Paraibano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 65 minutes into the game, Luizinho Matos recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Carlos Souza. Luizinho Matos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. After a rather tough play, Valente FC's Claudinei de Andrade got a free kick in the 68th minute. Valente FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
