The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlo Monni got free with Kurt Björkdahl in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 65th minute, Śląsk Bytom's Ulryk Miazga ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Kurt Björkdahl. Kurt Björkdahl yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. Śląsk Bytom's Stefan Danisiewicz was substituted for Roch Zajonc. After 70 played minutes Śląsk Bytom got a freekick which was hit by Zawisza Obronny. After a rather tough play, Śląsk Bytom's Zawisza Obronny got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Antoni Brama made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Okoyomon Charles Pinazas in the 73rd minute of play. Śląsk Bytom's Antoni Brama played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erasmo Clodio in the 77th minute of play. Kurt Björkdahl made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carlo Monni in the 79th minute. In the 79th minute, Śląsk Bytom's Carlo Monni dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. Erasmo Clodio scored 1-5 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Antoni Brama, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 86th minute, Aleksander Birkenhagen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 91st minute, Śląsk Bytom's Hakkı Elçin dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-6. The Śląsk Bytom supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Śląsk Bytom would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
