After having played for 16 minutes, Juliusz Giertych managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Czermno's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juliusz Giertych was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Florian Arendarski during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 18th minute of the match Babbis Kabitakis sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bogdan Wolniewicz skillfully saved the ball. After 23 minutes, Ryszard Dabrowski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Czermno and the Go Ahead Eagles players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 24 played minutes Go Ahead Eagles got a freekick which was hit by Periklis Vougiouklis. Bogdan Wolniewicz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chatziioannou Kakratsas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Giannis Papakostopoulos came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Go Ahead Eagles fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giannis Papakostopoulos couldn't finish the play. Bogdan Wolniewicz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Giannis Papakostopoulos went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. 44 minutes into the match, Go Ahead Eagles's goal looked a bit too open when Juliusz Giertych came free, but Vaggelis Pagarliotas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Giannis Papakostopoulos made a kick off. In the 54thth minute of the game Giannis Papakostopoulos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Czermno's Bogdan Wolniewicz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giannis Papakostopoulos in the 55th minute of play forced FC Czermno's goalkeeper Bogdan Wolniewicz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58thth minute of the game Giannis Papakostopoulos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Czermno's Bogdan Wolniewicz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Giannis Papakostopoulos came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Go Ahead Eagles fans jumped to their feet. Giannis Papakostopoulos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bogdan Wolniewicz having to make a save. If Chatziioannou Kakratsas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ryszard Dabrowski got his second yellow card in the match during the 74th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to FC Czermno getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Ryszard Dabrowski hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, Go Ahead Eagles's Bogdan Wolniewicz threw himself towards the right post 77 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Chatziioannou Kakratsas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Babbis Kabitakis made in the 80th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Aris Kolitsis. In the 82nd minute Giannis Papakostopoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bogdan Wolniewicz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Go Ahead Eagles booed when FC Czermno was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pawel Giertych didn't get a good kick on the ball. Giannis Papakostopoulos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 87thth minute tested the skills of Bogdan Wolniewicz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Giannis Papakostopoulos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Bogdan Wolniewicz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Wawrzyniec Cipinski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
