Caxias do Sul's Esen Sanal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nils-Arne Nilsson in the 21st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bayan Baye in the 26th minute of play forced S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper Esen Sanal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Caxias do Sul got a freekick which was hit by Krisztián Véber.
