Cássio Ramos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Atilla Açıkalın, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. 23 minutes into the game, Atilla Açıkalın cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Cássio Ramos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Batıkan Muhsin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Janne Töpperwien's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. The supporters of Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC booed when Karhulan Veikot was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. István Vida didn't get a good kick on the ball. Karhulan Veikot's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC the free kick. In the 47th minute, Ohto Lamminen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Atilla Açıkalın made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Karhulan Veikot's goal looked a bit too open when Atilla Açıkalın came free, but Cássio Ramos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
