The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Amboy FC's Jacinto Naelio dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Jacinto Naelio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Amboy FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jacinto Naelio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Batıkan Muhsin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ariel Mourelatos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Atilla Açıkalın in the 13th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Atilla Açıkalın in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ariel Mourelatos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Atilla Açıkalın in the 28th minute of play forced Amboy FC's goalkeeper Ariel Mourelatos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute Atilla Açıkalın shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Mourelatos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC's Atilla Açıkalın sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ariel Mourelatos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 37 minutes, Humberto Roldanillo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Amboy FC and the Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 37 played minutes Amboy FC got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Roldanillo. When Atilla Açıkalın came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Atilla Açıkalın couldn't finish the play. Ariel Mourelatos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Millrick Moya in the 47th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Humberto Roldanillo made a kick off. Batıkan Muhsin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roberto Rodriguez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Clemente Domeka hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC made a substitution. Ali Erdem Özsungur replaced Hasan Tahsin Polatalp. After having played for 64 minutes, Oğuzalp Yetiş managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oğuzalp Yetiş was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Batıkan Muhsin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Roldanillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. If Atilla Açıkalın had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 68th minute Atilla Açıkalın shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Mourelatos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the game, Roberto Rodriguez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Amboy FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC the free kick. In the 71st minute, Roberto Rodriguez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC's Kasper Häll was substituted for Atilla Açıkalın. If Napoleon Podolski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 84th match minute, Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oğuzalp Yetiş to maneuver through the defense. 85 minutes into the match, Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Roldanillo came free, but Batıkan Muhsin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
