River's Cosme Fernendo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christophe Dureuil in the 5th minute of play. The supporters of Royal PSG booed when River was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aurelio Txema didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 12 played minutes Royal PSG got a freekick which was hit by André Luquet. In the 14th match minute, River was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvestre Laurgain to maneuver through the defense. Edoardo Filippini received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cosme Fernendo came out and tried to block the shot, but Edoardo Filippini slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 17th minute. Silvestre Laurgain charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Silvestre Laurgain the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cosme Fernendo had in the 53rdth minute some difficulties stopping Edoardo Filippini's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The referee gave Silvestre Laurgain a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Gaetan Slaghmeulders recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. There was no doubt that Royal PSG were the better team. Royal PSG's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
