With an all-out effort, Soroca F.C.'s Cosme Fernendo threw himself towards the right post 14 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Adrián Espadas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Cosme Fernendo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adrián Espadas in the 16th minute of play. River's Cosme Fernendo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrián Espadas in the 20th minute of play. After a rather tough play, River's Gaetan Slaghmeulders got a free kick in the 21st minute. 22 minutes into the match, Adrián Espadas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cosme Fernendo, 2-0. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Adrián Espadas took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Cosme Fernendo to make any attempt to save it. River's defense didn't have a chance, in the 33rd minute, when Amador Venceslao scored to the left of an out of position Cosme Fernendo, making the score, 4-0. 41 minutes into the match, Rodolfo Atarrabi notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of River's Cosme Fernendo. Cosme Fernendo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 44th minute, Nereo Argina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cosme Fernendo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrián Espadas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodolfo Atarrabi got free with Cosme Fernendo in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adrián Espadas was the one to do the kick off. Cosme Fernendo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrián Espadas in the 53rd minute of the match. Ambrosio Mitxaut made in the 58th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Cornelio Henry. Soroca F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Răzvan Necula was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cosme Fernendo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Răzvan Necula's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cosme Fernendo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. In the 82ndth minute of the game Răzvan Necula who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but River's Cosme Fernendo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 84 minutes of play, Soroca F.C.'s Răzvan Necula made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cosme Fernendo was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind River's goalkeeper Cosme Fernendo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ernesto Henrico during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 89 played minutes River got a freekick which was hit by Ernesto Henrico. In the 91st minute, Răzvan Necula made a precise shot to the right of Cosme Fernendo. River's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zézinho Neiva in the 93rd minute of play forced River's goalkeeper Cosme Fernendo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute, River's Filomeno Distiratsu seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Filomeno Distiratsu the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of River protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Filomeno Distiratsu had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 95th minute of the game. One of River:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Soroca F.C.:s goal.
