SK Mons's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nick Daniels in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gustave Lechat prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 27thth minute of the game Steven Puttemans who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but R.C. Marseille's Gustave Lechat was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bart Vetter got free with Connor Osmond in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. SK Mons's Connor Osmond proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save SK Mons from getting a goal against them. Through an outstanding action, after 42 minutes, Connor Osmond successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Gustave Lechat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nick Daniels in the 44th minute of play. After a rather tough play, SK Mons's Cesar Vrijdags got a free kick in the 47th minute. Florent Travers took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 48th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Connor Osmond. SK Mons's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulo Teinturier was the one to do the kick off. Connor Osmond showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Teinturier in the 80th minute of the match. Lauren Van Eyken kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. In the 82nd minute of the match Florent Travers sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Connor Osmond skillfully saved the ball. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. SK Mons were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over R.C. Marseille's much stronger midfield.
