A throw-in in the 14th minute of the game was made by Rein Bautmans with Mattias Theijs as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. When Leonard Lewkowicz came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the F.C. Sosnowiec fans jumped to their feet. Connor Osmond took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonard Lewkowicz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dominik Zworski made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Tony Degraef sent off a good shot on target. SK Mons's Connor Osmond played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonard Lewkowicz in the 34th minute of play. In the 36th match minute, F.C. Sosnowiec was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonard Lewkowicz to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind F.C. Sosnowiec's goalkeeper Dominik Zworski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 42 minutes had been played when some careless play by SK Mons's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Baba Kosa hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leonard Lewkowicz made a kick off. After a rather tough play, F.C. Sosnowiec's Aleksander Sobania got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 64th minute, Leif Olofsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dominik Zworski was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. If Leonard Lewkowicz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Connor Osmond made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Leonard Lewkowicz sent off a good shot on target. F.C. Sosnowiec's Leonard Lewkowicz got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Connor Osmond made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saturnino Honrio in the 78th minute of play. Rein Bautmans charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rein Bautmans the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of F.C. Sosnowiec booed when SK Mons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rein Bautmans didn't get a good kick on the ball. Baba Kosa hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Dominik Zworski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tony Degraef in the 94th minute of the match. SK Mons's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
