Marseille's Gustave Lechat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tod Freeman in the 9th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, Camron Rhodes notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of R.C. Marseille's Gustave Lechat. Gustave Lechat was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tod Freeman in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gustave Lechat prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Will Patton kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Bart Vetter managed to get in a good position for a shot. R.C. Marseille's supporters rose to their feet, but Bart Vetter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Grant Blacknell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Camron Rhodes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gustave Lechat read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. In the 21st match minute, Leicester Lions was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tod Freeman to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th minute, Will Lemerond hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bart Vetters short, quick shot in the 25thth minute got Grant Blacknell to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Will Patton kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 30th minute Connor Branston shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustave Lechat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Leicester Lions booed when R.C. Marseille was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Teinturier didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, R.C. Marseille's Richard Le Moal got a free kick in the 36th minute. Gustave Lechat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tod Freeman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. R.C. Marseille's Gustave Lechat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camron Rhodes in the 40th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Tod Freeman made the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the R.C. Marseille defense, Tod Freeman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gustave Lechat. The R.C. Marseille fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gustave Lechat should have stopped the shot. In the 57th minute, R.C. Marseille's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Camron Rhodes fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 59th minute, Tod Freeman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Leicester Lions defense, Paulo Teinturier kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Grant Blacknell. The Leicester Lions fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Grant Blacknell should have stopped the shot. Leicester Lions's Qiu De Wen was substituted for Alexander Cheetham. Florent Travers hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 70th minute, Florent Travers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tod Freeman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustave Lechat having to interfere. Connor Branston took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gustave Lechat. Gustave Lechat dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. If Tod Freeman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gustave Lechat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camron Rhodes in the 85th minute of play. After 87 played minutes Leicester Lions got a freekick which was hit by Tod Freeman. The R.C. Marseille supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Leicester Lions's performance. The match ended with a win for Leicester Lions.
