The audience thought a goal was coming when Leonardo Donato got free with Connor Osmond in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Palmeiras's Jacinto Chaves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bogumil Czapski in the 5th minute of play. If Bogumil Czapski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 13th minute Nick Daniels shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacinto Chaves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Palmeiras's zone, Nick Daniels stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacinto Chaves came out of the goal and Nick Daniels tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 16 minutes into the game, SK Mons's Bogumil Czapski nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jacinto Chaves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 18 minutes into the match, Palmeiras's goal looked a bit too open when Nick Daniels came free, but Jacinto Chaves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bogumil Czapski in the 19th minute of play forced Palmeiras's goalkeeper Jacinto Chaves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Leonardo Donato had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nick Daniels sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Palmeiras booed when SK Mons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mattias Theijs didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind SK Mons's goalkeeper Connor Osmond, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Di Ping Jun's late challenge caught a Palmeiras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Di Ping Jun helped the player get up and apologised. In the 58th minute, Di Ping Jun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nick Daniels got free with Jacinto Chaves in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, SK Mons's Lauren Van Eyken got a free kick in the 62nd minute. SK Mons's Rein Bautmans was substituted for Di Ping Jun. After 63 played minutes SK Mons got a freekick which was hit by Lauren Van Eyken. After 65 minutes of play, SK Mons's Nick Daniels made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jacinto Chaves was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Palmeiras booed when SK Mons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leif Olofsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jacinto Chaves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bogumil Czapski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacinto Chaves acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 72nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Yanniek Verhaert. Nick Daniels struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Jacinto Chaves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SK Mons. Nick Daniels recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jacinto Chaves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bogumil Czapski in the 79th minute of the match. With a little luck, Palmeiras's Jacinto Chaves got control of the ball when Leif Olofsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leonardo Donato fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Connor Osmond having to interfere. Connor Osmond made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernt Jønsson in the 84th minute of play. Connor Osmond took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonardo Donato, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Palmeiras's Bernt Jønsson got a free kick in the 87th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bogumil Czapski in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jacinto Chaves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Connor Osmond took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernt Jønsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Connor Osmond showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonardo Donato in the 96th minute of the match.
