The audience thought a goal was coming when Bart Vetter got free with Vlad Voican in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 24 minutes into the game, Paulo Teinturier cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Vlad Voican was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Liviu Mincu hit a great ball. With a little luck, MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's Vlad Voican got control of the ball when Bart Vetter tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gustave Lechat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Liviu Mincu in the 31st minute of the match. Marseille booed when MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mădălin Sitaru didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vlad Voican was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Florent Travers. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Dan Stelaru made the kick off in the second half. Vlad Voican made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Teinturier in the 56th minute of play. In the 60th minute, Paulo Teinturier made a precise shot to the right of Vlad Voican. MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. 63 minutes into the match, MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's goal looked a bit too open when Bart Vetter came free, but Vlad Voican reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV defense, Bart Vetter kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vlad Voican. The MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vlad Voican should have stopped the shot. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
