The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 21st minute, Bernt Jønsson made a precise shot to the right of Jasper Opdebeeck. FC Bruges's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. 23 minutes into the match, Palmeiras's goal looked a bit too open when Koen Buyck came free, but Jacinto Chaves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in FC Bruges's zone, Bernt Jønsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jasper Opdebeeck came out of the goal and Bernt Jønsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jasper Opdebeeck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wesley Fantini in the 36th minute of the match. Wesley Fantini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the FC Bruges defense, Bernt Jønsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jasper Opdebeeck. The FC Bruges fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jasper Opdebeeck should have stopped the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-7.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bernt Jønsson to make the kick off. In the 54th minute, Bernt Jønsson fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jasper Opdebeeck, passed just outside the right post. Jasper Opdebeeck didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wesley Fantini went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-8 was the resulting score. In the 60th minute, Palmeiras's Bernt Jønsson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-9. With a little luck, FC Bruges's Jasper Opdebeeck got control of the ball when Bernt Jønsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bernt Jønsson hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Jasper Opdebeeck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wesley Fantini in the 72nd minute of play. Palmeiras's Jacinto Chaves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shen Shi Mo in the 76th minute of play. Wesley Fantini received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jasper Opdebeeck came out and tried to block the shot, but Wesley Fantini slotted it home off the left post making it 0-10 in the 80th minute. When the match was over Palmeiras could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Bruges throughout the match.
