The audience thought a goal was coming when Bart Vetter got free with Jasper Opdebeeck in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in FC Bruges's zone, Paulo Teinturier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jasper Opdebeeck came out of the goal and Paulo Teinturier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 10th minute, Florent Travers reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jasper Opdebeeck. The goal made the score 1-0. Bart Vetter blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jasper Opdebeeck having to make a save. Paulo Teinturier scored 2-0 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jasper Opdebeeck, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, FC Bruges's Thys Eli got a free kick in the 20th minute. When Bart Vetter came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the R.C. Marseille fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bart Vetter couldn't finish the play. In the 25th minute Shen Shi Mo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustave Lechat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Paulo Teinturier dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jasper Opdebeeck, 3-0. After a defensive mix-up in FC Bruges's zone, Florent Travers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jasper Opdebeeck came out of the goal and Florent Travers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jasper Opdebeeck stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paulo Teinturier's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. In the 38th minute, Bart Vetter made a precise shot to the right of Jasper Opdebeeck. FC Bruges's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. Jasper Opdebeeck came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by R.C. Marseille's Paulo Teinturier. But to his dismay, Paulo Teinturier quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 7-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulo Teinturier was the one to do the kick off. After 53 minutes of play, R.C. Marseille's Paulo Teinturier made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jasper Opdebeeck was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match clock showed 59 minutes, the score became 9-0 when Paulo Teinturier sped through FC Bruges's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jasper Opdebeeck. In the 62nd minute, Paulo Teinturier made a precise shot to the right of Jasper Opdebeeck. FC Bruges's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 10-0. Paulo Teinturier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Paulo Teinturier put it in 11-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jasper Opdebeeck. Jasper Opdebeeck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bart Vetter, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Jasper Opdebeeck came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by R.C. Marseille's Bart Vetter. But to his dismay, Bart Vetter quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 12-0. After 76th play minutes Paulo Teinturier shot 13-0, a short shot which went by Jasper Opdebeeck and just under the crossbar into goal. 80 minutes into the match, FC Bruges's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Teinturier came free, but Jasper Opdebeeck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulo Teinturier scored 14-0 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jasper Opdebeeck, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the FC Bruges defense, Paulo Teinturier kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jasper Opdebeeck. The FC Bruges fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jasper Opdebeeck should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Teinturier in the 95th minute of play forced FC Bruges's goalkeeper Jasper Opdebeeck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
