After a defensive mix-up in Palmeiras's zone, Natalio Cachurro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pegoraro Da Messina came out of the goal and Natalio Cachurro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bernt Jønsson took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ladislao Mazurkiewicz. Ladislao Mazurkiewicz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 16 minutes into the match, Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's goal looked a bit too open when Bernt Jønsson came free, but Ladislao Mazurkiewicz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute Dobromir Latocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pegoraro Da Messina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Natalio Cachurro's late challenge caught a Palmeiras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Natalio Cachurro helped the player get up and apologised. In the 22nd match minute, Deportivo Peñarol FIFV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Natalio Cachurro to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th minute, Bernt Jønsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonardo Donato in the 26th minute of play forced Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's goalkeeper Ladislao Mazurkiewicz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's goal looked a bit too open when Wesley Fantini came free, but Ladislao Mazurkiewicz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29th minute Natalio Cachurro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pegoraro Da Messina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 38 played minutes Deportivo Peñarol FIFV got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Polla. Deportivo Peñarol FIFV were awarded a corner in the 49th minute after Palmeiras's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jaime Hori took the corner. The corner ended in Jaime Hori almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Palmeiras's Pegoraro Da Messina did a great save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dobromir Latocha to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wesley Fantini in the 57th minute of play forced Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's goalkeeper Ladislao Mazurkiewicz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Palmeiras were awarded a corner in the 58th minute after Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Alfredão França took the corner. Pegoraro Da Messina came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's Dobromir Latocha. But to his dismay, Dobromir Latocha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. If Bernt Jønsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 68 minutes into the match, Dobromir Latocha notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Palmeiras's Pegoraro Da Messina. Pegoraro Da Messina was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Pegoraro Da Messina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Braian Rodríguez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Palmeiras's Pegoraro Da Messina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Natalio Cachurro in the 75th minute of play. Wesley Fantini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ladislao Mazurkiewicz having to interfere. The supporters of Deportivo Peñarol FIFV booed when Palmeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Donato didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Natalio Cachurro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 94 minutes into the match, Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's goal looked a bit too open when Wesley Fantini came free, but Ladislao Mazurkiewicz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Deportivo Peñarol FIFV booed when Palmeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Donato didn't get a good kick on the ball. Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
