SeleSantos FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After 17 minutes, Horacio Cuartio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the &La vieja Guardia& and the SeleSantos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of SeleSantos FC booed when &La vieja Guardia& was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horacio Cuartio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Enrique Garikoitz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vivaldo Loureiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Enrique Garikoitz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cássio do Vale in the 32nd minute of the match. If Godfredo Hever had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute Cássio do Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Garikoitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in SeleSantos FC's zone, Melchor Olando stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tales Siqueira came out of the goal and Melchor Olando tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tales Siqueira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Godfredo Hever in the 47th minute. Tales Siqueira made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Godfredo Hever sent off a good shot on target. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vivaldo Loureiro made a kick off. If Horacio Cuartio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fernandão Paraíba during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Godfredo Hever had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 90 played minutes SeleSantos FC got a freekick which was hit by Marcelinho Coelho. 95 minutes into the match, SeleSantos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Godfredo Hever came free, but Tales Siqueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. &La vieja Guardia& were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
