The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When &La vieja Guardia&'s Kang Han Zhen in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Despite this Bart-Jan Van De Beeck quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Bart-Jan Van De Beeck stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kang Han Zhen's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Royal Antwerp FC's zone, Kang Han Zhen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bart-Jan Van De Beeck came out of the goal and Kang Han Zhen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Through an outstanding action, after 32 minutes, Bart-Jan Van De Beeck successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Fidel Teofilio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reinaud Vrijdag, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. After 40 minutes, Bertan Musseeuw mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Royal Antwerp FC and the &La vieja Guardia& players grew even worse after the yellow card. Bertan Musseeuw kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Kang Han Zhen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The &La vieja Guardia& fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kang Han Zhen in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bart-Jan Van De Beeck prevented the ball from getting in the gole. &La vieja Guardia&'s Edelmiro Tartalo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Bart-Jan Van De Beeck in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kang Han Zhen made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kang Han Zhen in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bart-Jan Van De Beeck saved Royal Antwerp FC from getting behind. Royal Antwerp FC's Bart-Jan Van De Beeck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kang Han Zhen in the 57th minute of play. Fidel Teofilio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Willem-Jan Verhaert in the 58th minute of play. Fidel Teofilio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacob de Pelsmaeker, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 64th minute, Kang Han Zhen made a precise shot to the right of Bart-Jan Van De Beeck. Royal Antwerp FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. In the 68thth minute of the game Kang Han Zhen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Royal Antwerp FC's Bart-Jan Van De Beeck was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kang Han Zhen in the 89th minute of play forced Royal Antwerp FC's goalkeeper Bart-Jan Van De Beeck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Kang Han Zhen managed to get in a good position for a shot. &La vieja Guardia&'s supporters rose to their feet, but Kang Han Zhen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bart-Jan Van De Beeck breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 93 minutes into the match, Royal Antwerp FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kang Han Zhen came free, but Bart-Jan Van De Beeck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kang Han Zhen might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bart-Jan Van De Beeck. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kang Han Zhen ran back to his position shaking his head. Bart-Jan Van De Beeck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kang Han Zhen in the 96th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Royal Antwerp FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for &La vieja Guardia&.
