When Nestor Inko came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Florida Gulf Coast fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nestor Inko couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Florida Gulf Coast booed when Royal Antwerp FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcus Neirynck didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 48 minutes, Gordon Nazario took a quick shot and it went in 6-0 without a chance for William Weggers to make any attempt to save it. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 6-0.
