The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thorvald Mansel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Lucio Geofredo made a huge save. Florida Gulf Coast's defense didn't have a chance, in the 8th minute, when Thorvald Mansel scored to the left of an out of position Lucio Geofredo, making the score, 1-0. Nguyễn Phuong kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. In the 14th minute Nestor Inko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hoàng Nghiêm-Minh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Võ Bien could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Lucio Geofredo made a huge save. 1-1 became the score in the 17th minute when Nestor Inko elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Nestor Inko hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 26th minute Eleuterio Fiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hoàng Nghiêm-Minh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Florida Gulf Coast's goal looked a bit too open when Trần Ritchell came free, but Lucio Geofredo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Florida Gulf Coast's Lucio Geofredo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Florida Gulf Coast from getting a goal against them. In the 37th minute, FC Dalin's Thorvald Mansel ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lucio Geofredo. Lucio Geofredo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-1. In the 40th minute, Võ Bien hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roberto Cayo hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Roberto Cayo was shown his second yellow card after 47 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of FC Dalin booed when Florida Gulf Coast was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Cayo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Huỳnh Thuy in the 59th minute of play forced Florida Gulf Coast's goalkeeper Lucio Geofredo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 59 minutes into the game, Thorvald Mansel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-1. Lucio Geofredo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 64 minutes into the match, FC Dalin's goal looked a bit too open when Eleuterio Fiz came free, but Hoàng Nghiêm-Minh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th minute Eleuterio Fiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hoàng Nghiêm-Minh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, Eleuterio Fiz dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Hoàng Nghiêm-Minh, 6-2. If Thorvald Mansel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Trần Ritchell took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lucio Geofredo. Lucio Geofredo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-2. Florida Gulf Coast's Lucio Geofredo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Võ Bien in the 76th minute of play. Lucio Geofredo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thorvald Mansel in the 78th minute of play. In the 79thth minute of the game Trần Ritchell who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Florida Gulf Coast's Lucio Geofredo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lucio Geofredo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thorvald Mansel went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 8-2 was the resulting score. In the 87th minute Thorvald Mansel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucio Geofredo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 89th minute, Florida Gulf Coast's Gordon Nazario dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 8-3. Lucio Geofredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thorvald Mansel, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. FC Dalin fully deserved thier win.
