In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Porteño Prowess FC's goalkeeper Alejandro Gavilanes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 14th minute Dário Prada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alejandro Gavilanes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the game, Jaime Veronica cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Alejandro Gavilanes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 23 minutes into the game, Charlie Hancock was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Los Hornos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Porteño Prowess FC the free kick. A collision led to Los Hornos getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Charlie Hancock hit a great ball. In the 26th minute, Kenny Alströmer reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Silas de Andrade. The goal made the score 1-2. Silas de Andrade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kenny Alströmer in the 31st minute of play. Los Hornos's attentive Mustafa Erhard managed to snatch the ball when Hassan Brousseau made a throw-in in the 38th minute of the game. Dário Prada's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alejandro Gavilanes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. After the first half Los Hornos were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The crowd rose to their feet as Dário Prada kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alejandro Gavilanes. That made the score 1-3 in the 54 minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, Los Hornos's Dário Prada sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alejandro Gavilanes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dário Prada blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alejandro Gavilanes having to make a save. Alejandro Gavilanes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dário Prada, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. After a rather tough play, Porteño Prowess FC's Alessandro Nesta got a free kick in the 64th minute. Porteño Prowess FC made a substitution. Dobromir Przybylo replaced Alberto Ocomardia. Ghitã Butuc's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alejandro Gavilanes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. Dário Prada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alejandro Gavilanes having to interfere. Alejandro Gavilanes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oodo Rosin, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. The supporters of Los Hornos booed when Porteño Prowess FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fiallos Mellado didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kenny Alströmer in the 89th minute of play forced Los Hornos's goalkeeper Silas de Andrade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dário Prada could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Alejandro Gavilanes made a huge save. A collision led to Los Hornos getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Dário Prada hit a great ball. The Los Hornos supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Los Hornos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
