Fernando Pras was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 10 minutes into the match, ≮王者归来≯Island Sunrise's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldo Pirani came free, but Carlinhos Vieira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th minute, Naohiro Takahara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nelsinho Marinho struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Carlinhos Vieira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palestra do Interior. 17 minutes into the match, ≮王者归来≯Island Sunrise's goal looked a bit too open when Nelsinho Marinho came free, but Carlinhos Vieira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Romário Romero kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, Róbson Nascimento notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Palestra do Interior's Fernando Pras. Fernando Pras was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Palestra do Interior's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nelsinho Marinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carlinhos Vieira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelsinho Marinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th match minute, Palestra do Interior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurinho Matorin to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Óskar Aspfors to strike the kick off in the second half. Ruy Nóbrega recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, ≮王者归来≯Island Sunrise's Carlinhos Vieira got control of the ball when Nelsinho Marinho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tomás Tasso kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. In the 56th minute, Richard Ríos sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and ≮王者归来≯Island Sunrise's Carlinhos Vieira didn't even have to move. After a rather tough play, Palestra do Interior's Maurinho Matorin got a free kick in the 61st minute. A collision led to Palestra do Interior getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Maurinho Matorin hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Róbson Nascimento in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fernando Pras prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 72 minutes into the game, Nelsinho Marinho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palestra do Interior's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ≮王者归来≯Island Sunrise the free kick. In the 72nd minute, Nelsinho Marinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. ≮王者归来≯Island Sunrise made a substitution. Glauco Abraão replaced Róbson Nascimento. In the 78th minute of the match Palestra do Interior got a corner. ≮王者归来≯Island Sunrise's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Richard Ríos ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Perivaldo Carneiro got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Carlinhos Vieira quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Romário Romero kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Anísio Carneiro kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Fernando Pras showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Óskar Aspfors, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. ≮王者归来≯Island Sunrise's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
