The ≮王者归来≯Island Sunrise fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlinhos Vieira should have stopped the shot. The tension between the JFSP and the ≮王者归来≯Island Sunrise players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of ≮王者归来≯Island Sunrise booed when JFSP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pietro Sales didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had been going on for 39 minutes, JFSP's Claudinei Hermes got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Carlinhos Vieira. With a little luck, ≮王者归来≯Island Sunrise's Carlinhos Vieira got control of the ball when Flaco López tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 47th minute, Denílson Massa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Flaco López was the one to do the kick off. If Flaco López had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Róbson Nascimento replaced Marco Dias. Flaco López's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carlinhos Vieira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. When Denílson Massa came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the JFSP fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Denílson Massa couldn't finish the play. JFSP's Võ Gozali proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save JFSP from getting a goal against them. A collision led to JFSP getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Pietro Sales hit a great ball. Maurinho Varela's late challenge caught a ≮王者归来≯Island Sunrise's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maurinho Varela helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to JFSP getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Maurinho Varela hit a great ball. Võ Gozali made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Róbson Nascimento sent off a good shot on target. In the 92nd minute Róbson Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Võ Gozali saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlinhos Vieira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Flaco López went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score.
