In the 10th minute, Dimitris Kourmouzis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Miroslav Klose might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Petros Xenos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Miroslav Klose ran back to his position shaking his head. Petros Xenos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miroslav Klose, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 15th minute, Miroslav Klose reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Petros Xenos. The goal made the score 1-0. 22 minutes into the match, QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s Miroslav Klose sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Petros Xenos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the AEK S.C defense, Miroslav Klose kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Petros Xenos. The AEK S.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Petros Xenos should have stopped the shot. Petros Xenos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Miroslav Klose's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. In the 46th minute, QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s Miroslav Klose dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 5-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Norman Haiba to strike the kick off in the second half. Petros Xenos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miroslav Klose, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Petros Xenos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabiano Medeiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Petros Xenos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from José Guimarães went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. The supporters of QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C. booed when AEK S.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kleanthis Stavrinoudakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. 80 minutes into the game, Miroslav Klose cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Petros Xenos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Petros Xenos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miroslav Klose in the 94th minute of the match. Miroslav Klose's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Petros Xenos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C. had played much better football throughout.
