The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brian Finnman in the 8th minute of play forced Highway to Hell's goalkeeper Panos Papadimos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes into the match, Brian Finnman notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Highway to Hell's Panos Papadimos. Panos Papadimos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Panos Papadimos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juarês Donato in the 13th minute of play. Cris Courtois took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Loukas Kavalekas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Panos Papadimos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Carlos Vianna, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. With a little luck, Wambalamba FC's Cris Courtois got control of the ball when Stratos Theotokatos tried to sneak it across the goal line. João Carlos Vianna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Panos Papadimos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Wambalamba FC's goal looked a bit too open when Habib Al Zamel came free, but Cris Courtois reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Highway to Hell defense, Jacek Przybyciel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Panos Papadimos. The Highway to Hell fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Panos Papadimos should have stopped the shot. In the 62nd minute, Habib Al Zamel made a precise shot to the right of Cris Courtois. Wambalamba FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. When Stefanos Koubaras fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Highway to Hell's protests and gave Stefanos Koubaras a yellow card for diving instead. In the 66th minute, Stefanos Koubaras hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Panos Papadimos made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Robin Steckamp sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Highway to Hell booed when Wambalamba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Carlos Vianna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brian Finnman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Panos Papadimos made a huge save. Highway to Hell's Panos Papadimos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Highway to Hell from getting a goal against them. In the 72nd minute, Wambalamba FC's João Carlos Vianna dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. Florin Acevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Lefteris Nasiopoulos took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cris Courtois. Wambalamba FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Panos Papadimos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Carlos Vianna in the 79th minute of the match. Wambalamba FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
