An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Correia in the 2nd minute of play forced Club Sportivo Italiano's goalkeeper Arturo Ardines to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Orlando Cordarell got free with Arturo Ardines in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arturo Ardines showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Pitin in the 8th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Rolando Lopez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atlético Temperley's supporters rose to their feet, but Rolando Lopez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arturo Ardines breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 11 minutes of play, Club Sportivo Italiano's Evelio Pes made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lino Lizbeth was left in no man's land by his defense there! 14 minutes into the game, Club Atlético Temperley's Cristiano Correia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arturo Ardines made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. If Cristiano Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 20 minutes, Rolando Lopez made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Club Sportivo Italiano's Arturo Ardines tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Arturo Ardines showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Pitin in the 22nd minute of the match. The Club Atlético Temperley fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when Club Atlético Temperley's Rolando Lopez looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Arturo Ardines made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Pitin in the 27th minute of play. After 29 minutes Club Sportivo Italiano's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Pitin who took care of the corner kick. Joel Pitin made a great header on Club Atlético Temperley's corner, it was just that Club Sportivo Italiano's Arturo Ardines managed to reach the ball for a save. Arturo Ardines showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Pitin, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 47th minute, Gaston Laurendi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arturo Ardines was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-1.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cristiano Correia to make the kick off. Club Sportivo Italiano's Arturo Ardines played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaston Laurendi in the 57th minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, Joel Pitin notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Club Sportivo Italiano's Arturo Ardines. Arturo Ardines was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hilario Rayman received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Lino Lizbeth came out and tried to block the shot, but Hilario Rayman slotted it home off the left post making it 5-2 in the 63rd minute. 66 minutes into the game, Club Sportivo Italiano's Evelio Pes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Club Sportivo Italiano defense, Joel Pitin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arturo Ardines. The Club Sportivo Italiano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arturo Ardines should have stopped the shot. In the 74thth minute of the game Cristiano Correia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Sportivo Italiano's Arturo Ardines was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 77th match minute, Club Sportivo Italiano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Artemio Francesco to maneuver through the defense. When Joel Pitin came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Club Atlético Temperley fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Pitin couldn't finish the play. In the 80th minute Rolando Lopez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Ardines saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Club Atlético Temperley's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Pitin in the 81st minute. The corner led Club Atlético Temperley's Gaston Laurendi to fire away a dangerous shot which Arturo Ardines despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The Club Atlético Temperley fans' excitement grew in the 84th match minute when Club Atlético Temperley's Cristiano Correia looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Luisito Bikendi hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. In the 92nd minute Cristiano Correia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Ardines saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristiano Correia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gaston Laurendi's late challenge caught a Club Sportivo Italiano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gaston Laurendi helped the player get up and apologised. Gaston Laurendi hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. After 96 minutes, Hilario Rayman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Sportivo Italiano and the Club Atlético Temperley players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 96th match minute, Club Sportivo Italiano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hilario Rayman to maneuver through the defense. In the 97th minute of the match Joel Pitin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arturo Ardines skillfully saved the ball. There was no doubt that Club Atlético Temperley were the better team. Club Atlético Temperley's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
