The audience thought a goal was coming when Doni Rezende got free with Arnoldo Canor in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The nice shot from Doni Rezende in the 29thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Arnoldo Canor had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. In the 31st minute of the match, Sílvio Luiz Linhares tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Arnoldo Canor saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Arnoldo Canor made an important save on a dangerous shot by Doni Rezende in the 33rd minute. AC Korban's Teodoro Vinhas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Delmar Mancio in the 35th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Doni Rezende got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Teodoro Vinhas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramon Castel in the 40th minute of play. Arnoldo Canor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sílvio Luiz Linhares, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After having played for 48 minutes, Sílvio Luiz Linhares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AC Korban's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sílvio Luiz Linhares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dave Blair stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
