Elmer Lozano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Frans having to interfere. Bernardo Arias stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Giannis Dimitropoulos's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Bernardo Arias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nikos Sterpis in the 23rd minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 28th minute by Giannis Dimitropoulos got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.
