AC Korban's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lukáš Katačić was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Sílvio Luiz Linharess short, quick shot in the 9thth minute got Luis Nardo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Lukáš Katačić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teodoro Vinhas having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lukáš Katačić in the 13th minute of play forced AC Korban's goalkeeper Teodoro Vinhas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lukáš Katačić's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Teodoro Vinhas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, AC Korban's goal looked a bit too open when Lukáš Katačić came free, but Teodoro Vinhas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute Lukáš Katačić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodoro Vinhas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Lukáš Katačić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. Florida Gulf Coast were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after AC Korban's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. John James took the corner. Florida Gulf Coast's Luis Nardo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Florida Gulf Coast from getting a goal against them. 38 minutes into the match, AC Korban's Doni Rezende sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luis Nardo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half Florida Gulf Coast were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Doni Rezende made a kick off. Florida Gulf Coast's Luis Nardo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doni Rezende in the 51st minute of play. In the 55th minute Florida Gulf Coast were awarded a corner. John James went to the cornerflag to take it. John James made a great header on Florida Gulf Coast's corner, it was just that AC Korban's Teodoro Vinhas managed to reach the ball for a save. Teodoro Vinhas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lukáš Katačić in the 60th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Florida Gulf Coast walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
