Edmund Östman who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 7thth minute tested the skills of Ivar Albohm when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 10 minutes into the match, Strömsbro IF's goal looked a bit too open when Paul Martinsson came free, but Ivar Albohm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thomas Lövkvist took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Per-Åke Vestlund. Per-Åke Vestlund dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. A collision led to Strömsbro IF getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Thomas Lövkvist hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Börge Kristiansson in the 28th minute of play forced Söderbröder's goalkeeper Per-Åke Vestlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute Börge Kristiansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Per-Åke Vestlund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Börge Kristiansson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Per-Åke Vestlund was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. After 31 played minutes Strömsbro IF got a freekick which was hit by Börge Kristiansson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paul Martinsson in the 32nd minute of play forced Strömsbro IF's goalkeeper Ivar Albohm to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Per-Åke Vestlund came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Strömsbro IF's Börge Kristiansson. But to his dismay, Börge Kristiansson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thomas Lövkvist in the 41st minute of play forced Söderbröder's goalkeeper Per-Åke Vestlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paul Hellström hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match.

The supporters of Söderbröder booed when Strömsbro IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Börge Kristiansson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Börge Kristiansson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Strömsbro IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Börge Kristiansson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Per-Åke Vestlund breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Thomas Lövkvist came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Strömsbro IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thomas Lövkvist couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Rickard Drewitz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Söderbröder's supporters rose to their feet, but Rickard Drewitz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivar Albohm breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Strömsbro IF's Börge Kristiansson in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Söderbröder's goalie prevented a goal. Thomas Lövkvist took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Per-Åke Vestlund. Paul Hellström charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Paul Hellström the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Börge Kristiansson in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Per-Åke Vestlund saved Söderbröder from getting behind. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Strömsbro IF eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
