An unexpected shot in the 18th minute by Basílio de Mendonça got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Tiburcio Sidro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basílio de Mendonça, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. When Tostão Tasso came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Bandelocos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tostão Tasso couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, DON RAMON 72's Tiburcio Sidro got control of the ball when Basílio de Mendonça tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Tostão Tasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 35th match minute, Bandelocos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseu Guerra to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to DON RAMON 72 getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Andres Umbruso hit a great ball. When Bandelocos's Basílio de Mendonça in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 47th minute Tomás Abecia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Palmeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. DON RAMON 72's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Serafin Alonso in the 49th minute. After the first half DON RAMON 72 were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The supporters of DON RAMON 72 booed when Bandelocos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruy Dantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bandelocos's Alberto Palmeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomás Abecia in the 68th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Bandelocos's Ruy Dantas got a free kick in the 70th minute. Tiburcio Sidro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Eliseu Guerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After recieving a nice pass, Bandelocos's Diamantino Seco tried to score from far away in the 98th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar.
