Granville's Esteve Lia quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Nemesio Damario, made in the 16th minute of the game. Baltasar Guillerme didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Chi-Chi Branca went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Baltasar Guillerme came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Granville's Chi-Chi Branca. But to his dismay, Chi-Chi Branca quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Nemesio Damario kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, Granville's goal looked a bit too open when Wilfredo Berriotxoa came free, but Andrea Cellucci reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chi-Chi Branca in the 27th minute of play forced Atlético Nacional's goalkeeper Baltasar Guillerme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baltasar Guillerme didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Chi-Chi Branca went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. 34 minutes into the match, Granville's goalkeeper Andrea Cellucci had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Everardo Johans. Chi-Chi Branca struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Baltasar Guillerme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Granville. Atlético Nacional's Baltasar Guillerme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chi-Chi Branca in the 46th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafin Theodore in the 56th minute of play forced Granville's goalkeeper Andrea Cellucci to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Chi-Chi Branca came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Granville fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chi-Chi Branca couldn't finish the play. Granville's Rene Barea was substituted for Justino Frichoso. 65 minutes into the match, Atlético Nacional's goalkeeper Baltasar Guillerme had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chi-Chi Branca. In the 66th minute, Granville's Chi-Chi Branca dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. Granville made a substitution. Anselmo Hernando replaced Chi-Chi Branca. After 72 minutes, Anselmo Hernando made it 0-5 with a short kick to the right side. Atlético Nacional's Baltasar Guillerme tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 77th minute Vicente Sasoin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrea Cellucci saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Baltasar Guillerme came out of the goal and Anselmo Hernando tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 96 minutes into the game, Granville's Anselmo Hernando nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Baltasar Guillerme made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Granville had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
