A collision led to Atlético Nacional getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Jacinto Eliazar hit a great ball. 18 minutes into the game, C.A. GUAYACO's Caicedo Berrondo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Baltasar Guillerme made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Caicedo Berrondo might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Baltasar Guillerme. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Caicedo Berrondo ran back to his position shaking his head. C.A. GUAYACO's Augusto Obarenes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Baltasar Guillerme in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Celestino Rudolfo charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Celestino Rudolfo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Celestino Rudolfo hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 30th minute, Sérgio Silveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 35th minute, Vicente Sasoin fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 36th minute, Caicedo Berrondo made a precise shot to the right of Baltasar Guillerme. Atlético Nacional's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. When Atlético Nacional's Vicente Sasoin in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye C.A. GUAYACO's goalie prevented a goal. After 42 played minutes Atlético Nacional got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Mendez. Baltasar Guillerme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfaro Moreno in the 43rd minute of the match. A collision led to C.A. GUAYACO getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Mariusz Rykaczewski hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Caicedo Berrondo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With his leg Baltasar Guillerme managed to avoid a goal in the 53rdth minute, when C.A. GUAYACO's Caicedo Berrondo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Oso Amezaga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vicente Sasoin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. C.A. GUAYACO's Gutierrez Castorena was substituted for Virgilio Canton. Primitivo Mendez hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Rodrigo Caborredondo kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. In the 75th minute, Vicente Sasoin made a precise shot to the right of Oso Amezaga. C.A. GUAYACO's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Oso Amezaga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vicente Sasoin, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. After 85 minutes of play Atlético Nacional's Primitivo Mendez was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 86th match minute, Atlético Nacional was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Primitivo Mendez to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. C.A. GUAYACO had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
