With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronaldo Simão in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Başar Öztarhan saved Granville from getting behind. If Wilson Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arlindo Rossi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Elazar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. └◘RivierA▬Þauli§tA◘┘'s Wilson Soares got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 26th minute Serafino Urko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arlindo Rossi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Başar Öztarhan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilson Soares in the 27th minute of play. └◘RivierA▬Þauli§tA◘┘ were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after Granville's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Nestor Batista took the corner. Mauro Elazar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Granville's goal looked a bit too open when Dráusio Mota came free, but Başar Öztarhan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mauro Elazar made a kick off. Arlindo Rossi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Artemio Banegas in the 51st minute. In the 51st minute, Granville's Artemio Banegas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Arlindo Rossi. Arlindo Rossi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. Granville's Başar Öztarhan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dráusio Mota in the 55th minute of play. Başar Öztarhan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldo Simão, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 57th minute, Esteve Lia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Granville's Julio Cruz was substituted for Artemio Banegas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafino Urko in the 62nd minute of play forced └◘RivierA▬Þauli§tA◘┘'s goalkeeper Arlindo Rossi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
