Fermin Santos was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Elivélton Montenegro in the 7th minute of play forced Atlético Nacional's goalkeeper Fermin Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elivélton Montenegro in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fermin Santos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Carlos Alberto Duarte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eleuterio Efren in the 14th minute of the match. Fermin Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hamílton Soeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. In the 25th match minute, └◘RivierA▬Þauli§tA◘┘ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dário Amorim to maneuver through the defense. In the 27thth minute of the game Luiz Aparecido who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atlético Nacional's Fermin Santos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 29th minute Ignacio Confesor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Alberto Duarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dário Amorim was slow to take the kick. During this time └◘RivierA▬Þauli§tA◘┘'s players had a chance to rest. 44 minutes into the match, Dário Amorim dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Fermin Santos, 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elivélton Montenegro to make the kick off.
