Paulino Rivas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fermin Santos having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulino Rivas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Atlético Nacional's Fermin Santos got control of the ball when Paulino Rivas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fermin Santos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Anastasio Abilio did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-4 to the left of a surprised Fermin Santos 76 minutes into the match. Teofilo Berenguer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filiberto Precioso, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. 84 minutes into the match, Alfonso Karmel notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Atlético Nacional's Fermin Santos. Fermin Santos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Paulino Rivas got a fine position in front of goal ttaking advantage of the opportunity to rumble in 0-6 in the right cross in the 89th match minute before Fermin Santos had time to react. Alfonso Karmel might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fermin Santos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alfonso Karmel ran back to his position shaking his head. Evelio Refugio charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Evelio Refugio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 94th match minute, Atlético Nacional was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evelio Refugio to maneuver through the defense. When the match was over Karasuno could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Atlético Nacional throughout the match.
