The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Atlético Nacional's Fermin Santos got control of the ball when Dorian Teles tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dedê Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 6 minutes into the game, Filiberto Precioso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Diguinho Damião was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 13 minutes, Luciano Marz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Nacional's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luciano Marz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 16 played minutes YESHUA F.C got a freekick which was hit by Jorge dos Santos. In the 17th match minute, YESHUA F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wesley de Senna to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Ismael Vela managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Nacional's supporters rose to their feet, but Ismael Vela was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diguinho Damião breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dedê Carneiro scored 1-1 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fermin Santos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 27 minutes into the match, Atlético Nacional's goalkeeper Fermin Santos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dedê Carneiro. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dedê Carneiro in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fermin Santos saved Atlético Nacional from getting behind. Diguinho Damião didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luciano Marz went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. In the 47th minute, Aurelio Rocio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luciano Marz was the one to do the kick off. 57 minutes into the game, Atlético Nacional's Ismael Vela nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Diguinho Damião made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Evelio Refugio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute Luciano Marz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diguinho Damião saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Dedê Carneiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. YESHUA F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Dedê Carneiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fermin Santos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 68th minute, Carlos Eduardo Fantini got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dedê Carneiro took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fermin Santos. Fermin Santos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3. Diguinho Damião made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luciano Marz in the 95th minute. After 95 played minutes YESHUA F.C got a freekick which was hit by Caco Dantas. Filiberto Precioso struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Diguinho Damião didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlético Nacional. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
