An unexpectedly hard shot by Timoteo Columbo in the 4th minute of play forced Despidida AFC's goalkeeper Fernando Selatse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Academia 1903's Aldo Maju quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Justino Elequemedo, made in the 6th minute of the game. Despidida AFC's Fernando Selatse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Timoteo Columbo in the 11th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Jeremias Ezkerra in the 13th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Despidida AFC's Oliver Rizzo. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Toro Martínez took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Primo Speranza to make any attempt to save it. Fernando Selatse showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Timoteo Columbo in the 21st minute of the match. Academia 1903 were awarded a corner in the 22th minute after Despidida AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Harald Ek took the corner. The corner led Academia 1903's Harald Ek to fire away a dangerous shot which Fernando Selatse despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by Academia 1903's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Emanuel Lucila was slow to take the kick. During this time Despidida AFC's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Emanuel Lucila almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Academia 1903's Primo Speranza did a great save. In the 28th match minute, Despidida AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Szymon Pyrzyce to maneuver through the defense. The corner led Academia 1903's Harald Ek to fire away a dangerous shot which Fernando Selatse despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Fernando Selatse took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timoteo Columbo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Academia 1903's goalkeeper Primo Speranza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Timoteo Columbo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Toro Martínez came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Despidida AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Toro Martínez couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Timoteo Columbo in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fernando Selatse saved Despidida AFC from getting behind. Timoteo Columbo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Fernando Selatse showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Timoteo Columbo, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Timoteo Columbo was the one to do the kick off. Timoteo Columbo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fernando Selatse read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Academia 1903's Jakub Fedor was substituted for Jeremias Ezkerra. Academia 1903 made a substitution. Leon Matthäus replaced Timoteo Columbo. 67 minutes into the game, Justino Elequemedo threw the ball into play from the sideline. Academia 1903's Lucien de Neutere quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pastor Tino in the 92nd minute of play forced Academia 1903's goalkeeper Primo Speranza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Academia 1903's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
