An unexpectedly hard shot by Eleuterio Lamberto in the 23rd minute of play forced Ⓕⓤⓢⓘⓞⓝ ⒻⒸ's goalkeeper Elvio Niva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute, Eleuterio Lamberto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Elvio Niva was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Santiago Beltrán made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Jeremias Napier sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eleuterio Lamberto in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elvio Niva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Santiago Beltrán took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximiliano Batista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eleuterio Lamberto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Elvio Niva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julio Olarticoechea got free with Santiago Beltrán in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Diego Tajo succeeded in the game's 37th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-3. After 39 played minutes Ⓕⓤⓢⓘⓞⓝ ⒻⒸ got a freekick which was hit by Julio Olarticoechea. Jesus Conrao sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 47 minutes, Diego Tajo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Achtung Babies's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diego Tajo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half Achtung Babies were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eleuterio Lamberto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Achtung Babies's Santiago Beltrán played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeremias Napier in the 51st minute of play. Silvestre Veronica made in the 61st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Achtung Babies's Jesus Conrao. Julio Olarticoechea hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Diego Tajo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elvio Niva was relentless in the 67th minute of the game.
