Belchior Saldanha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 7 minutes into the match, Cartero de Agronomia F.C.'s Teofilo Maidana sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Belchior Saldanha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Teofilo Maidana could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Belchior Saldanha made a huge save. If Teofilo Maidana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 18 played minutes Cartero de Agronomia F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Oso Ted. Wilfred Vrede fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Basajaun having to interfere. In the 27thth minute of the game Teofilo Maidana who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but La Gallardeta's Belchior Saldanha was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teofilo Maidana in the 29th minute of play forced La Gallardeta's goalkeeper Belchior Saldanha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Belchior Saldanha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. An unexpected shot in the 34th minute by Jaime Xavier got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 41st minute Cartero de Agronomia F.C. were awarded a corner. Oso Ted went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 44th minute Wilfred Vrede shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Basajaun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bragan McPhil hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. When Teofilo Maidana came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Cartero de Agronomia F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teofilo Maidana couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 91st minute Fabian Urdaspal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Belchior Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabian Urdaspal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Belchior Saldanha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. La Gallardeta's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
