After a rather tough play, Catadão's Álvaro Godoi got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 31st minute of the match Catadão got a corner. Club Atlético Univ. UASD's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Álvaro Godoi ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of Catadão booed when Club Atlético Univ. UASD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Willy Iglesias didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Atlético Univ. UASD's goalkeeper Yánez Aldaeta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Club Atlético Univ. UASD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Catadão the free kick. Omar Palma could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Jardel Reis made a huge save. In the 67th minute, Chu Yun Lei left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Catadão fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Omar Palma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jardel Reis having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Catadão had won after a very even match.
