After some careless play in the Club Atlethico Talleres defense, Hanley Morrison kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Basilio Jobo. The Club Atlethico Talleres fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Basilio Jobo should have stopped the shot. A well-hit corner resulted in Ranko Kvarantan heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. With a little luck, Club Atlético Univ. UASD's Yánez Aldaeta got control of the ball when Arnoldo Orgaz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Yánez Aldaeta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arnoldo Orgaz's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. The Club Atlético Univ. UASD fans' excitement grew in the 36th match minute when Club Atlético Univ. UASD's Casimiro Villanueva looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Basilio Jobo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Omar Palma in the 41st minute of the match. 42 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Univ. UASD's goal looked a bit too open when Moises Ermengol came free, but Yánez Aldaeta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Club Atlethico Talleres were awarded a corner in the 44th minute after Club Atlético Univ. UASD's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Arnoldo Orgaz took the corner. Omar Palma took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Basilio Jobo. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Casimiro Villanueva to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Moisés Montoya during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Club Atlético Univ. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ranko Kvarantan in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Yánez Aldaeta saved Club Atlético Univ. UASD from getting behind. Club Atlethico Talleres's Basilio Jobo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Club Atlethico Talleres from getting a goal against them.
