The audience was convinced that Rodolfo Atarrabi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Denis Paulin was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Iordanis Karatzaferis advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-1 in the 23rd minute. Amador Venceslao hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. In the 28th minute, Adrián Espadas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Denis Paulin was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Adrián Espadas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Denis Paulin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. In the 34th minute Soroca F.C. were awarded a corner. Gustavo Tartalo went to the cornerflag to take it. Zézinho Neiva hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Uriel Ferrer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Vitaliy Vischak made a huge save. 38 minutes into the match, Soroca F.C.'s goalkeeper Vitaliy Vischak had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Uriel Ferrer. Amador Venceslao's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Denis Paulin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Soroca F.C.'s Adrián Espadas got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lionel-Andrés Messi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cyprien Combaz made a great header on Soroca F.C.'s corner, it was just that Defensores de Lombroso's Denis Paulin managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Defensores de Lombroso's goalkeeper Denis Paulin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 82 minutes into the game, Defensores de Lombroso's Lionel-Andrés Messi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Soroca F.C. eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
