The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Playa Malvín's Zé Roberto Teixeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julio Tolino in the 13th minute of play. Gamus Rocha's late challenge caught a Deportivo Pucho's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gamus Rocha helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Deportivo Pucho booed when Playa Malvín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gamus Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 20 played minutes Deportivo Pucho got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Milio. In the 22nd minute Claudio-Paul Caniggia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Roberto Teixeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Fred Åkerström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 36thth minute of the game Östen Stor who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Playa Malvín's Zé Roberto Teixeira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fred Åkerström in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Józef Mlynarczyk saved Deportivo Pucho from getting behind. The supporters of Deportivo Pucho booed when Playa Malvín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fausto Jayaga didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Östen Stor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Zé Roberto Teixeira made a huge save. 52 minutes into the match, Playa Malvín's Fred Åkerström sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Józef Mlynarczyk narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Playa Malvín's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sandu Mândrilă in the 54th minute. Sandu Mândrilă made a great header on Playa Malvín's corner, it was just that Deportivo Pucho's Józef Mlynarczyk managed to reach the ball for a save. Niva Espellosa took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Józef Mlynarczyk. Józef Mlynarczyk dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Józef Mlynarczyk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niva Espellosa in the 88th minute of play. A collision led to Playa Malvín getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Gamus Rocha hit a great ball. 93 minutes into the match, Playa Malvín's goalkeeper Zé Roberto Teixeira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Östen Stor. Niva Espellosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Józef Mlynarczyk read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play.
