The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tom Utheim during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 3rd minute of the game. One of Brufoss IL:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tango en Miami FC:s goal. Leif Opdal went to the wrong direction when Miles Person was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After some careless play in the Tango en Miami FC defense, Emanuel Markham kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Graig Davenport. The Tango en Miami FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Graig Davenport should have stopped the shot. Graig Davenport made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frode Tobiassen in the 14th minute. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Frode Tobiassen put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Graig Davenport. Graham Kearney blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leif Opdal having to make a save. In the 35th minute of the match, Emanuel Markham tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Graig Davenport saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 36th minute Brufoss IL were awarded a corner. Christer Ribe went to the cornerflag to take it. Christer Ribe made a great header on Brufoss IL's corner, it was just that Tango en Miami FC's Graig Davenport managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 37th match minute, Brufoss IL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kai Østbye to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Graham Kearney was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Graham Kearney in the 55th minute of play forced Brufoss IL's goalkeeper Leif Opdal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Emanuel Markham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Miles Person fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leif Opdal having to interfere. Tango en Miami FC's Graig Davenport played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Markham in the 63rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Tango en Miami FC's zone, Emanuel Markham stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Graig Davenport came out of the goal and Emanuel Markham tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brufoss IL's August Bergsland was substituted for Frode Tobiassen. During the 70th minute of the match Tom Utheim completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Tom Utheim a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Tom Utheim kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. 74 minutes into the match, Tango en Miami FC's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Markham came free, but Graig Davenport reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th match minute, Brufoss IL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Markham to maneuver through the defense. 79 minutes into the match, Brufoss IL's goalkeeper Leif Opdal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Graham Kearney. After a rather tough play, Brufoss IL's Kevin Strømsnes got a free kick in the 84th minute. Emanuel Markham recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
