The referee showed Melchor Egoi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 11 played minutes Telecaster got a freekick which was hit by Melchor Egoi. Saverio Henrico was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 14 minutes into the match. In the 13th minute, one of Telecaster:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Telecaster. Dionisio Iyan had in the 15thth minute some difficulties stopping Willie Staton's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 39thth minute of the game Gualterio Aguirre who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Telecaster's Dionisio Iyan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ermegildo Giro in the 47th minute of play forced Atlético Patoruzu's goalkeeper Aldo Hawk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Telecaster were awarded a corner in the 48th minute after Atlético Patoruzu's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Stipe Pačić took the corner. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The corner was taken by Willie Staton in the 94th minute. When the match was over Atlético Patoruzu could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Telecaster throughout the match.
