In the 23rd minute of the match, Zvonimir Prestin tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Atahan Balon saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Los Muchachos del 86's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Matthew Wagner ran over to the corner to take the kick. Zvonimir Prestin was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. 38 minutes into the match, PoWer SC 2K5's goal looked a bit too open when Saverio Brion came free, but David Rotariu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
