An unexpectedly hard shot by Sulo Montaña in the 10th minute of play forced Los Muchachos del 86's goalkeeper Atahan Balon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. LOI's George Buturugã played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo-Enrique Bochini in the 15th minute of play. George Buturugã took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saverio Brion, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Atahan Balon made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Sulo Montaña sent off a good shot on target. The LOI fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that George Buturugã should have stopped the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.
