Los once leones Ourense were awarded a corner in the 24th minute after Castanheiro SC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ceandro Lozano took the corner. The corner ended in Belmiro Alvarez almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Castanheiro SC's Pedrinho Guimarães did a great save. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Umberto Dionísio to make the kick off. In the 61st minute of the match Anísio Alagoano sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lancelot Sauca skillfully saved the ball. Lancelot Sauca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anísio Alagoano, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute.
