Roch Wawak stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdir Velloso's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. The supporters of Here Comes the Hammer booed when Newcastle United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juliusz Czeszyk didn't get a good kick on the ball. A throw-in in the 9th minute of the game was made by Barnaba Bentkowski with Przemyslaw Bulkiewicz as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 11 minutes into the match, Newcastle United's goal looked a bit too open when Valdir Velloso came free, but Roch Wawak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valdir Velloso in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roch Wawak prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Roch Wawak stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdir Velloso's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Valdir Velloso might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Roch Wawak. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valdir Velloso ran back to his position shaking his head. Roch Wawak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdir Velloso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. John Eriksson struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Roch Wawak didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Here Comes the Hammer. Roch Wawak stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdir Velloso's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Newcastle United's zone, Valdir Velloso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roch Wawak came out of the goal and Valdir Velloso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Valdir Velloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Roch Wawak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdir Velloso in the 34th minute of play. Roch Wawak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Eriksson, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. The supporters of Newcastle United booed when Here Comes the Hammer was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. John Eriksson didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdir Velloso in the 48th minute of play forced Newcastle United's goalkeeper Roch Wawak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Barnaba Bentkowski got a throw-in 52 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Benedykt Zerde. Here Comes the Hammer's Valdir Velloso was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 54th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. When Murilo Maranhense came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Here Comes the Hammer fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Murilo Maranhense couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when John Eriksson got free with Roch Wawak in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Valdir Velloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A sloppy throw-in by Barnaba Bentkowski in the 82nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Here Comes the Hammer's Emil Paulin. John Eriksson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roch Wawak having to interfere. Valdir Velloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Here Comes the Hammer's Valdir Velloso got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Here Comes the Hammer played a much better game than Newcastle United and deserved their victory. The Newcastle United players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
